Minto House is a 130 year old colonial Queenslander, currently being run as a guest house. It has 11 private rooms, 3 shared bathrooms, a large well-equipped kitchen, veranda with city views and a roomy lounge/ dining space with large free-to-air TV. WIFI is included in the rent. Each room has a small bar fridge and a fan, and linen and towels are provided. You are required to wash and dry your own linen, and keep your room clean for the duration of your stay. Coin-op washing machine is $5/ load. FREE ON-STREET PARKING!
This colonial-style guest house is 15 minutes walk from South Bank, the Brisbane Convention Centre and GoMA, and just around the corner from the West End entertainment precinct. QUT and UQ are just a short walk, bike ride or commute away. Parking is on-street and FREE! WIFI and all utilities are included in your rent. Air-confitioning carries an extra charge of $35/ wk.
Fellow guests tend to be international workers, full-time workers, shift-workers and post-graduate students, so we’re looking for QUIET, considerate housemates who respect others’ right to peaceful enjoyment of the house. Minto House is definitely not a party place. Illicit drug use and alcoholism will not be tolerated, nor will ANY harassment or abuse of other guests.
Given the current situation with COVID-19, we need people who are clean and tidy, are mindful of their hygiene, and willing to clean up after themselves in the bathrooms and kitchen.
The owner is a retired teacher with an interest in small-venue musical theatre. The manager lives nearby, so is available for any after-hours issues.
